Player Selection Process
- All-Star players are selected through a tryout process.
- Teams typically consist of 13-14 players, in accordance with Little League Tournament Rules.
- Selection criteria includes regular season performance, regular season manager input, All-Stars tryout evaluations, and player availability and commitment.
All-Stars Coaches
- All-Stars Coaches are selected through an application and interview process by the Tri-Lakes Little League Board of Directors.
- Coaches are chosen in time to review the potential pool of players and draft assistant coaches.
- If there is only one candidate in a division, a brief interview process will still take place to ensure alignment and readiness.
Player and Parent Commitment
Families of prospective All-Stars players should understand that the commitment is significant.
Time Commitment
- Practices will be held as needed each week.
- Practice times may vary and can occur during afternoons or evenings.
- Some teams may finish by the end of July.
- The 12U team could potentially play into the third week of August if advancing.
Travel and Costs
- District and State tournament locations are still being finalized.
- Families should expect additional costs, particularly for travel and lodging.
- All travel-related costs are the responsibility of the family.
Playing Time and Competition
- The level of play is higher and more competitive.
- Tournament rules differ from the regular season.
- There is no guarantee of equal playing time.
- Teams are competing to win, including the opportunity for 12U teams to advance toward the Little League World Series.
Emotional Commitment
All-Stars competition brings higher stakes, greater pressure, and increased expectations. Players should be prepared for a competitive environment focused on team success.
Commitment Acknowledgement
Families interested in All-Stars participation will be asked to complete an application acknowledging:
- Understanding of the time, travel, and financial commitment.
- Agreement to fully commit if selected.
- Submission of required documentation if selected, including a birth certificate and school enrollment verification.
Once teams are selected, players are expected to be fully committed to their All-Stars team.
